Slackware Current or 14 On My Laptop
This is the screenshot of my laptop running Slackware-current or Slackware 14.0 with KDE 4.8.4 and FGLRX 8.98 (AMD Catalyst 12.6 Beta) driver
Looking good eh?
As usual, I'm upgrading my slackware using slackpkg utility. But before that, please read the ChangeLog.txt before do anything else! Remember to check your /etc/slackpkg/blacklist file if you're adding some exception in it, so you are not end up crying your heart out because some of your beloved package are gone. Then if you are ready you can upgrade your installation like this:
# slackpkg update # slackpkg install-new # slackpkg upgrade-all # slackpkg clean-system
Slackware 14.0 now using SHA256 as default encryption method for /etc/shadows. So after upgrading the shadow package, we should updating our password database by invoking passwd ${USERNAME} to have our password encrypted in SHA256.
Happy Slacking...
